What's Happening This Week
Welcome to the South Park United Methodist Church web site. I hope you will take the time to browse through the information that is offered to quickly and briefly introduce you to the church and its ministries. You will discover a rather wide variety of ministries which include clustering around Outreach, Worship, Congregation and Community Care as well as Education.
South Park cannot be adequately described with words, however. The heart of South Park is with the people of the church….members and non-members alike. They can be described as warm and welcoming, instantly friendly and genuine. I have heard many of our visitors, some of whom became members of the church, comment how comfortable they felt almost as soon as they entered the building.
I think you will find Worship Ministries to be enriching and the music to be top quality. I think you will find opportunities for Education Ministries to be excellent for children as well as a growing interest in adult educational settings. I think you will discover how the Congregational Care Ministries provide a sincere interest in the welfare of our members and an interest in social fellowships where friendships and bonding can occur. I also think you fill find many ways to feel good about the Outreach Ministries and the multiple ways South Park reaches out to persons with specific needs.
So, if you are looking for a place to worship, learn and serve, I encourage you to visit South Park. We are a mission minded congregation always looking for new ways to serve others and always inviting new persons to become part of the church fellowship.
If you are a student or young adult I invite you to become part of the new Student Ministry with students from the University of Dayton, Wright State University and Sinclair Community College. Our Student/Young Adult ministry is new and growing.
If you are Vietnamese I invite you to the Vietnamese congregation that worships in the Chapel of South Park each Sunday at 4 p.m.
After you have browsed the web site I hope you make the decision to visit South Park. We are located on Brown Street at the corner of Stonemill Road. We are across the street from the University of Dayton and we are ready to welcome you.
Dr. Brooks W. Heck,
Lead Pastor
